“Diostan” is an international centre of humanistic culture and education for entrepreneurs.

  The centre is located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, 300 kilometers from Ufa and 75 km from Magnitogorsk, on the shore of mountain Lake Kuldybay. Geographic location is a unique union of the West and East of Russia, close proximity to Kazakhstan. The road through the “Diostan” connects the key cities of central Russia: Kazan, Izhevsk, Kurgan, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Novosibirsk, etc.
 The project aims to become a platform for scientific and cultural exchange of experience and knowledge of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia and the major developed countries of the world. This initiative is supported by the United Nations and is a continuation of international experience in the creation of such independent ecobiological centres worldwide.
An agreement with the St. Petersburg State University was signed as a part of the centre development.

Development strategy of the Diostan centre for 2012-2015

I. economic development and employment in Diostan

1) creation of jobs;
2) development of small and medium businesses;
3) development of  farms.
It is planned to create the following facilities on the basis of the centre by 2015:
- Hotel for 250 guests;
- Cheese production facilities;
- Bread production facilities;
- Greenhouse horticulture of vegetables uncommon for Bashkortostan;
-  Development of horse and cattle breeding

II. The scope of social projects and affordable education on the basis of the centre.

Cooperation with educational institutions having local and international status:
- Implementation of educational programs;
- Conferences, congresses and symposia;
- National and international competitions for young people;
- Language schools to study languages;
- The organization of specialized courses on management and leadership for the local female population, who have not had the opportunity to get higher education (the analysis showed that this opportunity will be provided for many residents of nearby villages for the first time).

III. Sports

 Creating  sports grounds and attracting young people to the regular physical training and sport: skiing, synchronized swimming, rowing, hockey, tennis.

IV. Ecology

1) planting more than 2000 trees and shrubs fertile, uncommon for the area;
2) maintaining the purity of the nearby lakes Kuldybay, Uskul and Yansykty;
3) cultivation of special grade Urals grapes and fruit trees;
4) application of international quality standards in construction;
